Physical description: Jane is tiny, blonde and terrifying. She's got bright blue eyes and tends to forgo make-up except when out partying or on duty, then it's every bit as important as her uniform being clean and presentable.
Sometimes she tries.
Sometimes she doesn't.
Sometimes Jane likes to dress like she's slept in a gutter. She wears clothes that don't quite fit, or fit maybe TOO well. She likes dark colors, and man pants. She really is a big fan of pants. She's isn't particularly tall, standing only at 5'5" and weighing 110 lbs, but she's got muscle, and knows how to use it in order to flip a full grown man over her head.
Jane in Action. Jane being Cheeky. Jane's PB. Jane's smooching Jim.Jane being smirky. Jane being a cocktease. Jane playing pool. This can't be good. But it all gets better with friends.
Canon Information
Her dad didn't know how to handle sticking around with just Jane to look out for, Jane, who by the day looked more and more like his dead wife, so he took off into space more than once. When Jane was 12, he dumped her on her aunt and uncle and incidentally into the middle of one of the worst genocides the Federation had witnessed in decades.
Jane's life spiraled out of control and left her with nowhere to go by the time Pike walked into that bar. And the rest, as they say, is history.
History: Jane was born in space at the advent of a universal shift. Her birth heralded a time line rupture that never entirely healed. The second child of Georgina and Windham Kirk, Jane was born for greatness and gained a legacy she didn't want. When the Kelvin was attacked, her mother became a hero and her father became a single, absent, parent. She was raised by her Aunt Francine with her sister Sam in Riverside, Iowa under the shadow of a Starfleet drydock. Being a Kirk came with a load of baggage and being a smart one meant expectations Jane never felt she could achieve.
But fate can be a fickle bitch, an even bigger one than her aunt, and around the time she turned twelve, she was selected to do a school year off Earth on a colony called Tarsus IV. That year changed her and she slowly began to fall apart at the edges. Local law enforcement knew her better than her own father and maybe that was why he never tried to repair what was broken, never asked for many details about what happened.
By age 18, Jane was working double shifts as a bartender and breaking up fights (and causing some) she never had any business being in, and ignoring every offer that came her way from various universities and institutes both on and off world.
So maybe it wasn't fate that landed Pike in her bar, but it surely couldn't be called coincidence. Starfleet was the best thing that ever happened to her and she's never looked back.
Jane Kirk | Jim Kirk
Personality: (Cocksure and confident, Janey Kirk is Captain Fine. She struts about, commands attention and generally gets into brawls because screw you that's why. If you move and breathe, Jane's likely to flirt with you for the hell of it. She's brash and loud and doesn't like taking 'no' for an answer.
The darling of Starfleet, Jane is and knows she is the poster girl for all that's good and awesome in the Federation (even if she thinks that's bullcrap). She actually is adept at diplomacy, despite what a lot of people seem to think, is fluent in multiple languages and can adapt to situations in a snap when it means someone life is in danger.
And she's had to. She always had to even as a little kid. Jane is a survivor. If she didn't have her bravado and charm, then what exactly is her purpose? She jumps at dares and pretends things are fantastic because she doesn't want to expose her soft under-belly and yeah, she has one of those. Big time. Her guilt complex? It's terrifying and only the brave should dare go near it.
Jane's spent a hell of a long time trying to prove her own worth. Living in the heroic shadow of a dead mom, a crazy-piston of a father and a step-mom who liked to yell and make lewd comments more than, you know, be a mom, Jane is constantly pushing herself to be a better person. She's smart without being arrogant about it, something she likes to hide because she always gets a tiny little kick out of flabbergasting people who think they're smart as shit only to be out played by her. She hurts easy, bruises where people might not think to look, and finds it really hard to know who to trust for the long haul. And it isn't because she doesn't want to trust people either.
She's got mommy issues, daddy issues and abandonment issues that are light years in length and she's still pretty damn certain they only gave him the Enterprise because Pike pulled a ton of weight with the other Admirals and leaned heavily on the sympathy card. (She did. And it burned more than Jane ever dared think it might when they took it all away from her.) She doesn't always feel worthy of the accolades she receives, and would rather just keep pushing onward than stop and acknowledge the good that's been done.
Jane is an all right kid. She's kind and funny and gets into stupid situations with other people all the time and then only puts their safety first. She's compassionate and headstrong and it's probably going to get her killed entirely too young.
And yes, she's got one hell of a temper when pushed too far. Watch out for her passion because it's absolutely contagious and could very well lead you down the path to hell.
All she wants to do now is help people. It's pretty simple. She wants to explore and discover and grow into the epic destiny that was unexpectedly dumped on her head.
Dying? That only made that feeling stronger.

Aug. 9th, 2015 07:24 pmCharacter Information
Name: Captain Jane Tiberia Kirk
Age & Date of Birth: 26 / January 4
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Canon: Star Trek: AOS
Powers & Skills: No Powers. Jane is skilled with side-arms, hand-to-hand combat, and being very sexually persuasive. She has strong command skills, charisma, and a wealth of random information at her finger tips. She is also really good at making a strong drink.
Position & Occupation: Starfleet Naval Officer, Captain of the INS Enterprise
Home Location: Imperia city
Appearance: Jane likes to dress like she's slept in a gutter. She wears clothes that don't quite fit, or fit maybe TOO well. She likes dark colors, and man pants. She really is a big fan of pants. She's isn't particularly tall, standing only at 5'5" and weighing 110 lbs. She recently chopped her hair short, it's a long story, a very long, very ow-worthy story, mainly her best friend hacked off half her hair to get to a nasty wound and to CUT OPEN HER SKULL, thanks, the scar is visible if anyone is looking too closely at her head.
Family: She has some. She really, really doesn't like talking much about them. That's in her past now. She's her own woman.
But if we must know:
Winona Kirk: Mother
George Kirk: Father (dead)
George Samuel Kirk: Brother (MIA)
Bio:
Being born on the sea is about as close to destiny as anything Jane can stomach, and from the time she was two, she was fascinated. Her mother killed that fascination pretty quick, spinning tails and hinting at every danger available until Jane was thoroughly turned off. But like everything, desires change. Winona started "traveling", taking off for long periods of time, leaving Jane with her uncle. This would be the start of Jane's downward spiral into petty crime.
Imperia City gave her all she needed to survive as far from her family home as she could get, and she started to fall back in love with the ports and the ships that docked here. But nothing could make her join the navy.
Nothing.
She didn't need that kind of notoriety, her last name did that well enough on its own. Her father dying in a major sea battle, and getting his crew to safety meant his name lived on well beyond him. People would talk about him to Jane like he was a saint and Jane hated him for it.
She hated a lot of people.
Joining Starfleet on a dare was one of the tamer things Jane has ever done on a whim, but it was difficult to assimilate to the rigid standards of living and she found herself in trouble more often then not, gaining a reputation that she encouraged, but that reputation couldn't tame her mind. She worked her ass off to become an officer of any rank, and started gunning for becoming a captain when things went to hell.
A pirate with a grudge attacked the Vulcan islands, and destroyed them, and any pretense that Jane didn't care was wiped away.
Jane became Captain on a technicality, but a Captain she was, and after their latest run-in with the pirate captain, Khan Noonien Singh, Jane is on a bit of an imposed vacation, doctor's orders, but the moment the INS Enterprise is ready to set sail, she'll be going back home.

Character History: Jane Kirk | James Kirk
AU History: Jane grew up in a world where every major figure and player in world history is gender-swapped. She grew up under a matriarchal setting with men and women on even footing and a lot of that shapes who she is now. Not even a full hour after she was born, her mother took command of the Kelvin and rammed it up the bunghole of a Romulan mining ship and saved 800 lives, leaving Jane with her heart-broken dad and an older sister, Sam, who sometimes resented the shit out of her because she didn't have the good sense to stay inside Georgia long enough to save their mom's life. So when Sam broke for freedom when Jane was 10, she took out her aggression the only way she knew how, balls-to-the-wall crazily.

"Hey, Bones."
Jane slipped on to the worn wing-back chair beside Bones' bed and folded her feet underneath her ass and settled in.
"It's been...Been about a week now, damn. Yeah. So, it's been about a week since...this," Jane waved her hand at Bones' unconscious form, "happened, and shit, you've missed more than you might want to hear about. But this is big, and I-I'm not stupid, all right? I know. I wasn't as drunk that night as you probably wanted me to be. But I do know why you weren't really around much for the early part of Pasha's pregnancy, or, well, all of it now." Jane leans forward and waves both her hands mockingly. "Surprise. She had her kid. A girl."
Jane's lips twitched. "With one hell of a name. Kid is going to have a lot cut out for her with a name like that one, but she's got two impressive parents, I think she can handle it. Lissandra Venyova." She wrinkled her nose and shook her head, chuckling. "I know, right?"
Jane falls back in the chair and rests her cheek on her closed fist. "I miss you. So fucking much right now, it's not even funny." Bones doesn't move. If her chest wasn't rising and falling, she might as well of been dead. Jane didn't know if she could hear her or even sense her presence. For all she knew, the magic behind this could have rendered the outside world impenetrable and there was nothing Jane could do to fix it.
Kissing hadn't fucking worked after all.
"Seeing Pasha like that kind of brought it all home how few of us are here and who we're missing. Sulu would have been- She would have already managed to spoil little Liss rotten and I'm not even sure how but it would have happened, we both know that."
Jane drags her fingers through her hair. "I swear to God, Bones, I never know what I'm doing anymore. If what I'm doing is enough, or if I could be-" She closes her eyes and let's out a quiet sigh, "Should be working harder at getting us home."
Bending forward, Jane dusts a kiss over Bones' forehead and then stands. "I've got to get back to the clinic. At least I can do something right. For one of you."

↠ Reason for Playing This Character: I am hoping to explore facets of Jane's personality that doesn't often come up in other games, the darker sides of her personality and the less charming aspects of her personality. She makes friends easilyand enemies but who was asking? and has very little shame about certain parts of her personality that she would dub the best parts of her personality.

SAMPLES
↠ First Person: Sample
↠ Third Person: This log, in my mind, perfectly exemplifies the results of Jane's pride. She chose not to listen to anyone outside herself and her own feelings and lack of self-worth and it effected more than just her. Her pride and ego made her feel invincible in a situation that, had it occurred anywhere else, would have resulted in her death. And here in this log, Jane reflects on that.

![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
↠ Age: 26
↠ Appearance: Jane is tiny, blonde and terrifying. She's lightly muscled and can flip a full grown man over her head. She's got bright blue eyes and tends to forgo make-up except when out partying or on duty, then it's every bit as an important part of her uniform and weaponry as the hand-held phaser she keeps tucked in the waist band of her pants.

↠ Reference/History: Jane | Jim
↠ Personality:
Pride: Jane has spent most her adult life attempting to step out of the enormous shadow her mother left behind. She is constantly out to prove her worth as her own person by being better than everyone thinks she can be. She doesn't like accepting help with personal problems. She doesn't like to feel weak. Her independence comes from years she perceived herself to be on her own, and this independence has gotten her killed.
Lust: She likes sex. Jane Kirk really. REALLY. likes sex. She likes sex with one person, two people, an orgy of people. She is the ultimate pansexual. She has yet to meet another species she would not consider having sex with, so long as no one is getting hurt and everyone is having fun. The one quirk Jane has to this love of sex is her need for consent. She will not sleep with you if she feels you are someone feeling pressured or coerced into it. Things just aren't fun when people think they have to have sex with you.
Envy: She won't ever say it, but she is always jealous of people with loving families. She won't go out of her way to say her father didn't love her, he did, but she wasn't in a warm home after Sam ran away when Jane was eleven. She doesn't resent people the kind of childhood she wishes she had, but she feels extremely uncomfortable in the presence of that kind of familial love.
Wrath: You fuck with her crew. She will fuck up your face. There are no formal discussions.
Gluttony: Jane has a thing about food. She has her favorites, like everyone else, but she sometimes forgets to eat, or overeats to the point of making herself ill. This is especially noticeable with alcohol. If having a terrible day, she will drink past the point of sanity.
Sloth: Jane worked as a bartender from the time she turned eighteen. She didn't want to go on to college despite having an excellent grade point average and passing intellectual exams at a genius level. She didn't apply those skills until she entered Starfleet.
Greed: If we're counting her passionate love affair with the Enterprise, hell yes, Jane Kirk is a greedy bitch. She will kill people for that shipmaybe not literally.
Cocksure and confident, Janey Kirk is Captain Fine.
↠ Powers: None outside the realm of a physically fit, charming human being.
↠ Reason for Playing This Character: I am hoping to explore facets of Jane's personality that doesn't often come up in other games, the darker sides of her personality and the less charming aspects of her personality. But Jane as a whole is just damn fun to play. She makes friends easily
↠ What is Your Character's Sin?: Pride. (Though if asked she will straight up say it's lust. It's not. Though it's close.)
