Name: Jane Tiberius Kirk
PB: Rachael Taylor

punch_it
Age: 26
Appearance: Jane is almost ALWAYS in motion. It's when she becomes totally stiff that shit is about to go down. She talks with her hands, cannot sit still and has a very expressive face. Physically Jane is kinda tiny, but if you get her naked, you'll realize she's not skinny but really damn toned. Jane takes care of her body at a personal level, just not at an interpersonal level. It's not rare that Jane is sporting a black eye or a bloody lip from instigating a fight when a day goes sour. She's got piercing blue eyes, like corn-fed Iowan skies blue, the definition of baby blues and she knows how to use 'em. She's also a natural blonde thanks, getting it from both mommy and daddy.
Almost every move Jane makes is casual, be it deliberate or not. She likes to act like everyone is her friend, or eye-candy, and only her family can really ever tell if it's an act or not. She isn't shy with her body. Let's put it like that.
History: here | here | here
Powers/Talents:Jane's preternaturally disposed to get her ass in trouble. Jane has strong hand-to-hand fighting skills and knows how to point a gun.
Personality: Cocksure and confident, Janey Kirk is Captain Fine. She struts about, commands attention and generally gets into brawls because screw you that's why. If you move and breathe, Jane's likely to flirt with you for the hell of it. She's brash and loud and doesn't like taking 'no' for an answer.
The darling of Starfleet, Jane is and knows she is the poster girl for all that's good and awesome in the Federation (even if she thinks that's bullcrap). She actually is adept at diplomacy, despite what a lot of people seem to think, is fluent in multiple languages and can adapt to situations in a snap when it means someone life is in danger.
And she's had to. She always had to even as a little kid. Jane is a survivor. If she didn't have her bravado and charm, then what exactly is her purpose? She jumps at dares and pretends things are fantastic because she doesn't want to expose her soft under-belly and yeah, she has one of those. Big time. Her guilt complex? It's terrifying and only the brave should dare go near it.
Jane's spent a hell of a long time trying to prove her own worth. Living in the shadow of a dead dad, a crazy-piston of a mother and a step-dad who liked to yell and make lewd comments more than, you know, be a dad, Jane is constantly pushing herself to be a better person. She's smart without being arrogant about it, something she likes to hide because she always gets a tiny little kick out of flabbergasting people who think they're smart as shit only to be out played by her. She hurts easy, bruises where people might not think to look, and finds it really hard to know who to trust for the long haul. And it isn't because she doesn't want to trust people either.
She's got mommy issues, daddy issues and abandonment issues that are light years in length and she's still pretty damn certain they only gave him the Enterprise because Pike pulled a ton of weight with the other Admirals and leaned heavily on the sympathy card. (He did. And it burned more than Jane ever dared think it might when they took it all away from her.) She doesn't always feel worthy of the accolades she receives, and would rather just keep pushing onward than stop and acknowledge the good that's been done.
Jane is an all right kid. She's kind and funny and gets into stupid situations with other people all the time and then only puts their safety first. She's compassionate and headstrong and it's probably going to get her killed entirely too young.
And yes, she's got one hell of a temper when pushed too far. Watch out for her passion because it's absolutely contagious and could very well lead you down the path to hell.
All she wants to do now is help people. It's pretty simple. She wants to explore and discover and grow into the epic destiny that was unexpectedly dumped on her head.
Dying? That only made that feeling stronger.
Why would your character be chosen? Jane Kirk is Jane Fucking Kirk. She's charismatic as hell, she's riddled with issues, and she is a natural born leader with a 'fuck you' attitude.
How much does your character know about nonhumans? Jane's XO is about as alien as they come. Kidding! Jesus. But the point is, Jane commands a starship with over 500 people. At least half of them aren't human, and she's off exploring new planets every day. It's very likely someone in the Federation could have heard of them, so too could have Jane.
Why this character: As a character, Jane is a lot of things I am not (and a lot of things I am), I've only been playing her for a few weeks, but I've been playing Jim for over a year and his boldness, person-ability and the ease in which you can mix and match movie canon with TOS canon means I can have endless fun with him.
AU Addendum: As a girl, the way the world interacts with Jane would be different. Her personality is absolutely that of a frat boy and it can make people uncomfortable and a lot more critical of her choices. But at her core Jane is still Jim. Just with tits, a vagina and a slightly BIGGER chip on her shoulder that she needs to work through.

Please either include a first-person entry that could be your character's first post on The Network, or a third-person prose or action spam sample that could be your character's reaction to arriving in Dagaz. For the other two samples, links to previous character examples are fine.
First-Person: What is it with kidnappings and alien mating rituals? 'Shit Starfleet Failed to Teach Cadets on the Command Track'. I could write a whole book on this kind of thing. I'd make bank doing it too. Hero of the whole damn Federation, saving people from awkward sexual encounters and technologically advanced societies 101.
Though I gotta say, being kidnapped off the bridge of my goddamn ship mid-warp?
Yeah.
That one's new.
Third-Person: "Ow."
Jane grits her teeth and slams her eyes shut against the sudden brightness. There was a lot wrong here. More than her brain could compensate for when everything, including her, seemed to be spinning in crazy circles with no real intentions to stop. She lifts a hand to her face to stifle a curse and a groan before she sits up to take stock of the situation.
And more importantly where the hell she was.
No one. No one should have been able to rip her off the bridge like that. She can still feel the quiet suffocation of knowing something was wrong and not knowing how to stop it. The startled looks on her crew's faces the last thing she saw before the shadows swallowed her right off her chair.
Shit.
She hears the shuffle of feet coming from behind her before she sees the person. There was no way, no way in hell, that Jane was going to be sitting on the ice cold, marble floor when she had to confront the person, people? Beings? That took her.
It's work getting back to her feet, but she manages it, even making her slight stumble appear like a swagger when she turns to face the approaching person.
"You make it a habit of kidnapping people? Or am I just lucky today?"
